The Differences Could Not Be More Clear
I’d like to tell you that I watched the entire Democratic Presidential Debate last Friday evening, but I did not. Don’t worry, through modern technology, forty thousand texts and emails, Facebook posts and YouTube, I do not think that I missed much, nor do I think that the choices for President could present more of a contrast to the current Commander in Chief.
The Dumbass of the Week goes to entire field of candidates who will take any opportunity to disagree with President Trump, simply because they do not want to appear as though they agree with President Trump on anything ever, no matter what. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day as the old expression goes. We have the lowest unemployment rate in over 50 years, the highest stock market in history nearing 30,000 pts., a rebuilt military and an American populous who have recently been polled at 74% who claim to be happy about the way things are going. 74%, the highest ever, if I am not mistaken. With numbers like that in his favor, surely you could find something upon which to agree with him? But no, not even turning the country away from Socialism or the taking out of Qasem Soleimani. If Trump is for something, this group is against it. I can’t wait until the general election.
Sometimes your opponent actually has a good idea, and if you are smart, you steal it. You do like Bill Clinton used to do; he’d take the good ideas that the Republicans had and then present them as his own. The thing the Republicans hated the most was that Clinton would get credit for things that they had been on record championing for however long. I always thought that it was a brilliant strategy and actually helped to get things done. I do understand that if the Democrats had a great idea and Trump tried to steal it and make it his own, the media would do everything in their power to make certain that he never got any credit. Plus, if the Democrats decided to be complete hypocrites and change their minds about supporting a plan that they had always called for, our vaulted media, the DNC P.R. Team, would not say a word. However, not calling Socialism a bad thing and pretending that taking out Gen. Soleimani was not a good thing is not only stupid, it’s dangerous.
Okay, first things first. Factually, almost every Democratic Presidential Candidate is a multi- millionaire with at least one billionaire on stage, and another, much wealthier billionaire off in the wings waiting to jump into the race. In sharp contrast to their financial status, several are also affirmed Socialists: Not to mention the one Communist on stage. And no, there really is no difference between Socialism and Democratic Socialism, both of which will eventually lead to Communism when put into the wrong hands. The bottom line is that Socialism has never worked anywhere that it has ever been tried, nowhere, not even once. The reason that I had to miss the debate live on Friday night was because on Saturday and Sunday, I had to work a show for Dumbass Apparel. My favorite sale came at the end of the second day when two gentlemen, from China, bought shirts that said “Socialism Sucks”.
To make my point a different way, these two men were from China, speaking Chinese and bought the shirts that said “Socialism Sucks”…because they were from China and would know. One guy actually translated the shirt for the other guy and then, in perfect English, the second guy pumped his fist in the air and said F… Yeah! He actually, very clearly said the F word, but I could tell that he was all too happy to share his thoughts on the subject. Sale made to both men.
The second jarring disagreement that the candidates had with President Trump was the taking out of General Qasem Soleimani; the Iranian general who was responsible for the killing and wounding of thousands of Americans. Simply disagreeing with Donald Trump is one thing, and the reason why we have debates and elections. However, the nasty and demeaning ways in which these people show their disfavor with what the President did, is so over the top that they are hard to take seriously. I am also convinced that their hypocrisy knows no limits and that given the same choice, but by a Democratic President, it would have been a great decision that made our country, and the entire world, safer. Pete Buttigieg, for instance, claimed that he does not believe that President Trump reads the military updates that he is given by his staff. And how exactly would he have any insight into that? Joe Biden, Hunter’s dad, took the opportunity to praise Lieutenant Colonel Vindman and tell everyone how President Trump does not respect the military. Really? Then why is his support amongst the military personnel so great? To be clear, Vindman was not fired only reassigned. The problem is that only in Washington DC does getting transferred actually get referred to as ‘getting fired’. Vindman was transferred out of the Whitehouse because the President does not believe that he can trust the man. Go figure? On top of which, about 70 or so other people, Obama holdovers, are being transferred in the NSC…and all I can say is “Good Riddance”.
Nonetheless, we are being treated to an election year and tempers and opinions run high. Apparently when 74% of Americans are satisfied with the way that things are going, it does not mean too much to the party which does not have the Whitehouse. In my lifetime, and I am in my 50’s, I do not remember as decisive and thorough a Chief Executive as Donald Trump. I am not suggesting that one must love his tweets or his abrupt manner, but his decisions and policies have been well thought out and effective enough so that 74% of Americans are happy. But you would not know any of that if you only listened to the candidates who are hoping to replace him come November. America First policies have hurt us around the world; Trump has brought us to the brink of war; our allies and our enemies have no faith in our leadership and so on and so on it went throughout the night. Truth be told I am glad that I missed it and only had to research it in bits and pieces so that I would not drive myself crazy. We will soon have a winner in the New Hampshire primary and all indications is that it will be the guy who once said that he does not mind being called Communist. In other words, a Communist will be the de-facto leader of the Democrat Party. An AOC endorsed Communist, will be the de-facto leader of the Democrat Party. The contrast that this party is going to put up against President Trump, come November, could not be more clear and I just cannot wait.
